1. Export situation

According to the statistics recently released by the General Administration of Customs, in 2022, the national export value of weighing products is 1.946 billion US dollars, a decrease of 17.70%.

In 2022, China’s cumulative export of weighing products to Asia amounted to US $697 million, a year-on-year decrease of 8.19%, accounting for 35.79% of the country’s total exports of weighing products. The cumulative export of weighing products to Europe was 517 million US dollars, a decrease of 26.36%, accounting for 26.57% of the total export of weighing products in the country. The cumulative export of weighing products to North America was US $472 million, a decrease of 22.03%, accounting for 24.27% of the total export of weighing products in the country. The cumulative export of weighing products to Africa was US $119 million, a year-on-year decrease of 1.01%, accounting for 6.11% of the total export of weighing products in the country. The total export of weighing products to South America was 97.65 million US dollars, a decrease of 29.63%, accounting for 5.02% of the total export of weighing products in the country. The total export of weighing products to Oceania was 43.53 million US dollars, an increase of 11.74%, accounting for 2.24% of the total export of weighing products in the country.

From the specific market point of view, in 2022, the national weighing products are exported to 210 countries and regions in the world, of which the United States and Canada are still the largest market for China’s weighing products, the European Union is the second largest market, ASEAN is the third largest market, and East Asia is the fourth largest market. In 2022, the country’s exports of weighing products to the United States and Canada were 412 million US dollars, a decrease of 24.18%; Exports to the EU amounted to US $392 million, down 23.05% year on year; Exports to ASEAN amounted to 266 million US dollars, down 2.59% year on year; Exports to East Asia amounted to US $173 million, down 15.18% year on year. Exports to the top four markets accounted for 63.82% of the total export value of weighing products in 2022.

From the perspective of export shipment, the top four provinces and cities in 2022 are still Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Jiangsu, and the exports of the four provinces and cities are more than 100 million (US $), accounting for 82.90% of the national exports. Among them, Guangdong Province’s exports of weighing instruments were 580 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 13.63%, accounting for 29.81% of the national exports of weighing instruments.

In the national export weighing products, household scales are still the largest export products, household scales account for 48.06% of the national export weighing products, a cumulative export of 935 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 29.77, the price increased by 1.57%. The second largest export products are various weights and weights for weighing instruments; Weighing parts (weighing sensors and electronic weighing parts), the cumulative export of 289 million US dollars, accounting for 14.87% of the country’s export weighing products, an increase of 9.02%, the average price increased by 11.37%.

For the balance with a sensitivity less than or equal to 0.1mg, the cumulative export value was 27,086,900 US dollars, an increase of 3.57%; For balances with a sensitivity greater than 0.1mg and less than or equal to 50mg, the cumulative export value was $54.1154 million, an increase of 3.89%.

2. Import situation

In 2022, China imported weighing products from 52 countries and regions, with a cumulative total of 192 million US dollars, a decrease of 8.28%. The import source of weighing products is Germany, with a total import of 63.58 million US dollars, accounting for 33.13% of the national import of weighing instruments, a decrease of 5.93%. The second is Switzerland, with a total import of 35.53 million US dollars, accounting for 18.52% of the national import of weighing instruments, an increase of 13.30%; The third is Japan, with a total import of 24.18 million US dollars, accounting for 12.60% of the country’s imports of weighing instruments, an increase of 2.38%. The main receiving places of imported weighing products are Shanghai (41.32%), Beijing (17.06%), and Jiangsu (13.10%).

The largest proportion of weighing products in the country is the balance, accounting for 33.09% of the total imports of weighing instruments, the cumulative import amount of 63,509,800 US dollars, an increase of 13.53%. Tianping is still mainly imported from Switzerland (49.02%) and Germany (26.32%).
